County Executive Andy Spano’s Autism Advisory Committee has spoken – and in response Spano announced a series of initiatives to make the county “autism friendly” and deal with gaps in services for families with children on the autism spectrum. Recently, we added several initiatives to help families that care for children with autism, including a program to provide monitoring bracelets.

Come to our annual county-wide Transition Fair 2009 on Nov. 14 for students with developmental disabilities. Admission is free and pre-registration is not required.

The Department of Community Mental Health Services manages and provides access to a wide array of person-centered, recovery-oriented services through Single Point of Access.

 

These services include case management, Assertive Community and Assisted Outpatient Treatment, housing and forensics.

Mental Health Clinics

County Mental Health Clinics

The Department of Community Mental Health operates four outpatient mental health clinics located through the county.

 

The centers provide individual, group and family therapy; crisis intervention; assessment; referral and educational presentations. Spanish-speaking staff are available at all clinics. Call (914) 995-HELP for an appointment.
