The county develops programs to address its residents' pressing needs
The Department of Community Mental Health undertakes several new initiatives each year to address the many and varied, immediate needs of inidividuals and families living in Westchester. Here are a few of the initiatives we've undertaken this year:
- We have created a depression support network, individuals can talk to a professional Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can get referrals for treatment.
- We are in the process of up-dating and expanding the resources we offer on autism on our Web site. We want to make this information more accessible to families whose lives are touched by this condition.
- The county's care coordination project focuses on addressing the needs of people with serious mental illness, as well as offering extra supports to maintain themselves in the community.
If you'd like to learn more about any of these initiatives or others, call us at (914) 995-4534.
